Gratitude Journal – Day 157 – December 5, 2014

Laughter….
is the topic dealt to me today as I randomly chose from a deck of sayings on what to write about today. Your laughter and love still linger in the air in our home and as I step outside on a warm and sunny, or even cold and rainy day. As my eyes were too heavy to stay awake last night, I lay down on the couch – the same one as the first time I talked to you on the phone for hours. And for four hours (which must be a record for a guy talking on the phone….), we talked and we laughed as we got to know each other. I loved the infectious sound of your laughter then, as much as I did until the last moments we spent together, and will for eternity until we are together again.
I think of your laughter as we walked out of the music store with the first guitar you had in many years. You said, ‘Thank you baby’ and I smiled as I loved to see you happy. And as you giggled, you said to me, ‘You don’t understand how happy this makes me.’ I do myDarlin' Robert Kenui Pope, I do now…. Music flows through our veins and is truly the backdrop for all of our lives.
And the saying read…. A BIG laugh is a really loud noise from the Soul.
Your laughter permeated the air when you were with Ohana – no matter if it was our children, our grandchildren, family, friends, co-workers or acquaintances. From a small chuckle to a belly laugh, your laughter was ever present.
Today I am grateful that as I head into the weekend, and the rest of my life, I will carry your laughter in my heart.
