Gratitude Journal – Day 273 – April 1, 2015

Blessed beyond measure….
is what I am when I pause to take a look at my life. Eleven wonderful years with the most perfect soul mate and Ohana that keeps me looking up. And for the gifts of kindness I can never repay, I am grateful and will live my life in such a manner to always look toward paying it forward.
On day 267 I shared with you my Ohana, on following one’s heart – and the physical representation of that post arrived in the mail yesterday. As I held the box in my hand, I knew that a treasure awaited that proved to be every bit as beautiful as I envisioned it to be. And I peel off layer after layer of the white tissue paper cradling the treasure wrapped with love and wire, until I am holding it in my hand. I smile and say a word of thanks to her for her time, talent and great care as I hold a treasure made with mementos from my Grandfather, my Mom and myDarlin’ Robert Kenui Pope.
I arrived tonight to spend some time with my friends, excited to show them my new treasure and am met by another of my special friends in the parking lot as they are leaving. And she came to bring me a piece that she made for me inspired by my grandson who’s dream is ‘Making the World a Better Place’ or MTWABP. And she took my idea of a necklace, and made it ten times better with her love and creativity.
Tonight myLord, I am grateful for these two special members of our Ohana as they share their talents with me. And even though these physical items are of this world, they sometimes represent the intangible but yet very real aspects of life and love, another plane of existence called heaven.
