Gratitude Journal – Day 276 – April 4, 2015

Roll with the punches….
except when it comes to jumping out of a plane in high winds. Today was the day, the day that we were to do something more daring than anything this girl’s ever done in her life. Today we were to jump out of a perfectly good plane. But as we were on our way to the airfield, in fact almost to it, a call came through indicating that the winds were too high today and that our jump was being cancelled.
And I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be great if we received a call every time there is a threat that things won’t turn out exactly as we planned. But of course, we know that is not a reality – and so we buy insurance to protect against those times. An actual policy comes with many exclusions and stipulations that if not followed will be grounds for termination of said policy. But did you know that there is a policy that all of us are eligible for even if we haven’t lived a perfect life? What a relief that is, because as hard as we may try, none of us ever have been or ever will be perfect.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life. John 3:16
Today comes to an end like any other day, but is different as tomorrow we will celebrate Easter Sunday. I am grateful for this life insurance policy that our heavenly Father offers to any believer, for it gives me the strength and understanding that myDarlin’ Robert Kenui Pope prayed for me almost ten months ago on that Sunday morning. And as I look up to the heavens, I know that on this Easter Sunday and for eternity, he rejoices with the angels as he plays for Jesus in God’s House Band.
