Gratitude Journal – Day 321 – May 19, 2015

Somewhere…
over the rainbow…. I can hear myDarlin’ Robert Kenui Pope singing as he strums the ukulele on the beach at Kona. The year is 2006, a pivotal one for both of us as we traveled to Hawaii, lost my mother, gained two grandsons, lost my job, got married and secured a different job with the same company. And we sat on the beach with our Ohana and realized just how good life really is, and how blessed we are.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dream of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly, over the rainbow
Oh why, oh why can't I?
Tonight I am grateful as I look at this photo and can hear this island boy singing as he remembers times gone by and dreams of those yet to be. Malama pono dear Ohana.
