Late night musings…
I sit at the same spot I did before you left myDarlin’ Robert Kenui Pope late at night, processing photos while you crushed candies, played guitar or watched the history channel trying to wind down from a busy day. I marveled at the amount of information that swirled about in your head, and it seemed no matter what the topic, you had some exposure to it.
And tonight I struggled with figuring out why my computer kept crashing and I can hear you as clear as day. “I can see you’re frustrated Baby, can I help?” So, I take a deep breath, remove the frustration and look up the remedy which seems to be working. Thank you myDarlin’.
Our grandchildren – God knows you loved them. There’s something special about these small people that grow too quickly. And one of our grandsons (on my side) was telling us that his ethnicity is Hispanic, white, Indian and Hawaiian….I have to laugh a little, but then again – the spirit of Aloha crosses all boundaries and is a way of living.
ITunes plays on the iPhone (I know how much you like technology) next to me and this song came on.
When I saw the break of day
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand
I wished that I could fly away
Instead of kneeling in the sand
Catching teardrops in my hand
My heart is drenched in wine
But you'll be on my mind
Forever
But you'll be on my mind
Forever
Yes myDarlin’, forever is where you will live, both in heaven and in my heart.
“Are you coming to bed?” you said, to which I replied, “I’ll be right there.” And you count 1001, 1002, 1003, wishing that you could fall asleep before the snoring commences. I can still hear you say, “I love you baby, we have a good life, don’t we?” Yes, we do myDarlin’, yes we do.

Tonight I am grateful for random sweet memories of myDarlin’ and thank our Lord that he is safe in his arms. And as I climb into bed, I look up at the night sky through my window and say a little prayer for him, for you and for me.
