Anytime at all, anytime at all, anytime at all, all you’ve gotta do is call and I’ll be there…..
This morning, as I pressed the play button on the iHome that had myDarlin’s iPhone charging, this Beatles song was playing. A great way to begin myDay with a smile from Robert and an everlasting promise from our Lord.
A couple of friends have shared stories with me, that will help all of us to see and believe in the ripple effect. In one of my posts ‘pre-Gratitude Journal’, I shared a thought from Chris. Robert Kenui Pope's life is like a stone that was dropped into the ocean, creating a ripple that transforms into a powerful wave by the time it reaches the shore. A friend held her hands up with the shaka sign in her team photo at work, and because of it was able to share our #KeepLookingUp story with co-workers half-way across the world. Another friend told of how he was so moved by our story and Robert’s service that he immediately called his wife to let her know he loves her and that they need to slow down and appreciate the everyday. Two very different stories each one making a difference in someone’s life.
I’ve said it time and time again, and it bears saying it yet again. Robert was not only myDarlin, he was your Father, your friend, your Brother, your bandmate, your co-worker, etc. The only one that he has ever ‘belonged to’ is God.
Today, as I sat at my desk, I noticed a card that has been taped to my wall since April of 2010. myDarlin’ and I went to see the movie Avatar and came away with an understanding that we had a profound connection with each other, just like the two main characters. ‘I see you’ to us meant, ‘I see into your soul and you are in my heart.’ As I read the words again, I can hear his voice and am confident that he ‘sees me’.
I am filled with gratitude for the 11 years I had with myDarlin, the ripple that he is making in this big crazy world of ours and that our Lord stands by these words…..
“Anytime at all, all you’ve got to do is call and I’ll be there.”
