Gratitude Journal – Day 6 – July 6, 2014

A Church to call Home

When Robert & I met eleven years ago and were getting to know each other, we both shared thoughts about our spiritual journeys. Although, both of us were saved and had attended church on a regular basis in the past, we decided not to become involved in organized religion at that time. It was shortly after Kona began as a band, that the guys decided to begin getting involved in leading praise and worship services in a few local churches. This ‘face’ of the band was called Koinonia and often included others who weren’t part of the regular Kona group.

This led both Robert & I to want to find a church to call Home, and knew that God would lead us to just the right one for us. Fast forward to late 2012, when we met Ronnie and John of Ronnie John’s Beach Café, who invited us to attend their church Marietta Vineyard where they both played in the Church Praise & Worship Team. I remember the first service we attended, Pastor Ron asked everyone to find another person and pray with them. Both Robert and I prayed that God would show us the church that we should join. We both enjoyed the teachings (not preaching) of Pastor Ron, and Robert was so honored to be asked to join the band to play bass not too long afterwards.

We have enjoyed attending Marietta Vineyard, and I know that God lead us here for a very specific reason. I believe that God wanted Robert to already have a home when he was called home, and for that I am eternally grateful.
